FAMILY Movement, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is to empower families with tools and skills to become stable and self-sufficient.
Community space will be used for Pillar of Success workshops for current and prospective community and neighbors. We will be a one-stop-shop to assist families with tools and connect them with experts, and resources to help build stabilization and self-sufficiency as they transition from homelessness to homeownership.

In 2022, Family Movement had the opportunity to partner with MTK Development as a community partner on their new building project proposal. We proudly accepted this chance to help make a significant impact in the Grove Hall community (Dorchester). By May 2023, along with our support, MTK had secured the lot. Thanks to Mayor Wu, the project received funding approval in March 2024, and the zoning was approved by the Board of Appeals in July 2024.
This project is a tribute to the late Marzuq Muhammad and marks a significant milestone for Family Movement. We are excited to establish our first brick-and-mortar office space on the building's lower street level. This new center will serve as a hub for the community, providing wrap-around services and opportunities to connect with experts such as therapists, interpreters, and caseworkers.
In addition, we will offer workshops in fitness, wellness, and financial literacy, complete with incentives for participation. Our facility will also include a computer training area where members can access resume-building workshops and other resources. From addressing homelessness to providing stable housing and supporting homeownership, our office will be a cornerstone for community support. It will also serve as a venue for small gatherings and meetings for community groups aligned with our mission.
To make this vision a reality, we need your help. We are aiming to raise $500,000 and would be honored if you would partner with us and help us fundraise $5,000. Your name will be proudly displayed on our donor recognition wall.
